Mobile Wi-Fi Box
Have mobile wi-fi box, will travel. The concept of having mobile wireless internet is not new but with this gadget it could redefine the way you choose to pay for internet services. The Mobile Wi-Fi boxes, which are made by a few different companies at this time, require a wireless data card from a cellular provider. Granted if your laptop already has a wireless card port you won't need the box, but there are some notebooks that don't have this capability...enter the Mobile Wi-Fi Box. Now first off it won't really be that fast unless it's a wireless company that's already deployed UMTS or HSPDA (EDGE is pretty decent but it's not the stuff that high speed dreams are made of). How about getting rid of that cable modem or DSL and hooking the box up to your desktop PC? Change is inevitable.2.22.2006

Nokia, Symbian among many to support mobile gaming open architecture
Industry leaders have joined together to produce mobile games for multiple operating systems and phone models. By teaming up, the tech aggregate which also includes Microsoft, Samsung Electronics, and Activision among others, hopes to agree on a group of core mobile gaming capabilities that can be used across the board as a basis to build upon. In turn this should decrease development time for new gaming software, as well as provide opportunity for developers to concentrate on more robust features.[Source: Yahoo! Tech News]

Mobile Gadgets, etc. expands
Mobile Gadgets, etc. is now no longer "just another tech blog." I've devoted time and a bit of dough to develop a website - www.mobilegadgetsetc.com So come check out the new site when you have time, but keep in mind it is under construction. When all is done, it will incorporate this "News" blog along with a gadget review section, a forum, a gallery of broken gadgets, a place to shop, etc.2.07.2006

Free iPods (yeah right)
Day after day I surf the net checking my usual websites and day after day I am amazed at the number of "Free iPod" ads. I decided to click on a few of the links to see what their "offers" were all about. After perusing some of the lengthy "Policys" and "Terms of Agreements" I came to the conclusion that there were no "Free iPods" to be had. I did a little more research and stumbled upon an article by David Lazrus published in the San Francisco Chronicle about a year ago. Mr. Lazrus has some very interesting findings for those of you who truly believe that you will recieve a "Free iPod" with no strings attached.

New iTunes Cellphone
Motorola is finally getting in touch with their sexy side. First, the RAZR and now the new Motorola SLVR L7. The SLVR is the second phone by Motorola to feature the iTunes capability. (Let's hope this phone performs better than the ROKR) With it's sleek style and thin body, the SLVR reminds me of a RAZR that doesn't fold up.
Kudos Moto for another cool looking phone!
